18-year old Solomon Ndukwe who went to a Catholic church in Lagos to steal has been caught and handed over to the police.
The suspect allegedly went to St. Lawrence Catholic church located at Sheba Ojo Street in Igando area to steal early in the morning.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when he sneaked in through the fence, searched and did not find any money to steal, he carried a vehicle battery and attempted to escaped. However, he was caught by security men with the battery, interrogated and he confessed that he actually stole it from the church.
He was handed over to the police at Igando Division and the battery was recovered as an exhibit.
He was charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Adeyemi Ajayi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor did not object to his bail but informed the court that Ndukwe be given bail to enable him to come to court for trial.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 26 March, 2018.
