An 18-year old boy, Elikor Ehud, who burgled a church and stole about N1.5m realised from tithes and offering during the service has regained freedom over the controversy and the embarrassment the incident had caused the church.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that there was controversy over the seed money Ehud and his friend, Lucky, allegedly stole with several appeals made by the parents of Ehud, who are also elders in the church.
It was gathered that nobody actually knew how much was stolen because the money was not recorded as people sowed their seeds during the church service. That brought a lot of issues among the members, who realised that the church was making huge amount of money during services.
It was gathered that to save the embarrassment and startling revelations, the General Overseer of the Divine Chosen Vine church, Dr. Godwin Chukwwdire, reportedly directed that the matter be withdrawn from the Police.
However, the Police charged the matter before Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing before the church wrote a letter to the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T. O. Shomade, to seeking to withdraw the matter and it was struck out.
P.M.EXPRESS had earlier reported how one of the teenage workers, an 18-year old Elikor Ehud and one Lucky conspired, sneaked into the church in the evening, broke the seed offering box and carted away the whole money.
They thereafter reportedly lodged in a popular hotel known as High Power Point in Ejigbo and squandered the money.
The incident happened at church headquarters located at Furniture Avenue at Jakande Estate, Ejigbo area of Lagos.
