The political temperature in Imo State is gaining momentum as Hon. Paul Eze, National Coordinator of the grassroots movement “Tell Your Neighbour”, formally announced the inauguration of the group’s Imo State Chapter.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the move marks a major push in the early endorsement campaign to secure President Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Addressing supporters, Hon. Eze described the launch as “a significant milestone” in what he called a people-driven mission to consolidate support for the President across the South East. He emphasized that the 2027 project would be won street by street, compound by compound, and neighbour by neighbour.
Tell Your Neighbor” brands itself as a grassroots mobilization group with one clear mandate: to spread what it calls the “good works” of President Tinubu and to share his vision for a better Nigeria. According to Hon. Eze, the group’s strategy is simple but deliberate — inform, educate, and mobilize.
To lead the Imo State drive, Hon. Okenwa Clinton Anyanwu has been appointed as the State Coordinator. Anyanwu, a well-known mobilizer in the state, is tasked with taking Tinubu’s message of “Renewed Hope” to the 27 Local Government areas, from Owerri Municipal to the most remote communities in Ngor Okpala.
Speaking on his appointment, Hon. Anyanwu said the Imo Chapter will not rely on billboards alone. “We are building an army of political evangelists,” he declared. “Every member of Tell Your Neighbour is empowered to share the news of President Tinubu’s leadership with at least two persons every day.”
The group’s philosophy hinges on personal conviction and peer influence. Instead of waiting for campaign season rallies, members are urged to begin daily conversations — at markets, churches, town halls, and family meetings — explaining the administration’s policies and future plans for the state and country.
Hon. Eze noted that Imo State is strategic to the South East political equation, and the chapter’s launch is the first of several planned across the zone. He said the group would showcase Federal projects, social investment programmes, and economic reforms it credits to President Tinubu’s leadership since 2023.
Party faithful and community leaders who gathered for the announcement welcomed the development, describing it as a wake-up call for early mobilization. Many said the 2023 elections taught them that grassroots engagement cannot be left until the last minute if the President is to secure a second term.
While the exact date and venue of the formal inauguration ceremony are yet to be released, Hon. Eze assured the public that details would be made known “in due time”. He called on Imo residents, especially youths and women, to register with the chapter and become part of the “Tell Your Neighbour” network.
With the 2027 general elections still over a year away, the launch signals that political alignment has already begun. As Hon. Anyanwu put it while closing the briefing: “If you believe in President Tinubu, tell your neighbour. If your neighbour believes, let them tell theirs. That is how we will mobilize Imo State for 2027.”
