It was then that Ndubuisi realised that Opeyemi had nothing to do with the house and asked him to refund the money he had paid him for the transaction but he refused and started threatening to kill him if he sees his within Oshodi making demand for the money.
The matter was reported to the Police at Akinpelu Division; Opeyemi was then arrested and detained for interrogation.
During interrogation, he reportedly admitted that he actually obtained the money but had already spent it and will not be able to refund it.
The Police found him culpable and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and obtaining under false pretense.
He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to fix a date for hearing on the matter to enable the Police to prove that Opeyemi actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O Sule-Amzat, then granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 24th February, 2020.
