Teslim Stadium Hosts Ace’s Solid Sports’ ‘Return Of Victory Night’ Boxing Bouts

A United Kingdom – based boxing promotion company, Ace’s Solid Sports, has concluded all arrangement to stage a boxing championship at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Sunday, 29 April, 2018.

The event, tagged ‘Return of Victory Night’ will hold in the amateur and professional cadres with no fewer than 16 boxers fighting in the ‘Night of Bomber to Bomber’ championship.

The female bout of the night will hold between Adebayo Damilola and Olamide Mustapha in the bantamweight category.

Aliu Ibrahim of Paramount Boxing Club will fight Fatai Ajadi of Star Boxing Club in the light weight category. Kabiru Salawu of Chester Boxing Club will battle Kazeem Saka of Kamlat Boxing Club in the Light welterweight category, while Taiwo Oyegunwa of the NSCDC will go to war against Oluwasegun Mustapha of Aso Rock Boxing Club in the welterweight category all in the amateur division.

In the professional cadre, Moses Odion will take on Yusuf Olalekan in the 52kg six rounds bout. Taiwo Agbaje will settle scores with Tunde Olajide in the 75kg six rounds fight, while in the welterweight contest, Ganiu Kolawole will battle Sunday Olalekan and Hammed Ganiu fights Samuel Opaogun in light welterweight bout. Onoriode Ehiwareme of Nigeria will take on Pa Kwesi Ankra from Ghana in the heavyweight cadre. All professional flights are six rounds.

CEO of Ace’s Solid Sports Boxing Promotion, Mr Tubde Adegbuyi said at the Press conference held at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Complex, Rowe Park, Yaba on Wednesday that he was happy to deliver his promises on the first edition of the boxing show in Nigeria which holds at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Adegbuyi thanked all the boxing loving fans for their words of encouragement and patience after the cancellation of December, 2017 event which failed to hold due to logistics issues.

He said Ace’s Solid Sports is taking a giant stride towards restructuring the lost fortune of the sport in the country, adding that the ‘Return to Victory Night’ will hold as planned now. He called on boxing lovers in Lagos to come in their numbers to watch Nigerian boxers in action.

“I want to thank everyone who has stood by me to make this dream a reality, and together we shall continue to achieve great result as we forge ahead,” Adegbuyi said.

To the President of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, NBB of C, Dr Rafiu Ladipo, the Return of Victory Night is coming at a time when Nigerian professional boxers are yearning for more tournaments.

“As a board we are happy with the coming of Ace’s Solid Sports Promotion, and we hope that our boxers will give their all to make the show a great one, ” Ladipo said.

Organisers said that the gate will be opened by 3pm, while fans will pay the sum of N1,500 for ringside and N500 for the popular side.
