Many of us who have followed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party since his stint as governor of Anambra State, know too well that he does not have the capacity and strength, talk more of the pedigree that his supporters do associate him with. He is rather a mere house fly who thinks himself a butterfly.
Since his comical aspiration to become President of Nigeria, he has projected himself to young Nigerians as the messiah who would have all of their problems fixed within a few nights. He promised to turn Nigeria around and replicate Bangladesh and China within his first year in office, albeit this was not the case in Anambra State, where he was governor for two terms of eight years.
In order to satisfy the desires of young Nigerians, he was more interested in selling himself above his true value. Unfortunately, he has started to retract his claims, saying that Nigerians shouldn’t look to him for solutions to all of their problems. He has come to terms with the fact that he is not the Messiah and has limited abilities.
It’s unfortunate that a man who was dubbed a messiah and is constantly surrounded by dubious platitudes hasn’t yet provided his supporters, Nigerians who are his potential employers, and the rest of the world interested in Nigeria’s next election with his programmes and policy documents so they can evaluate him appropriately and hold him accountable. Instead, he has travelled to town using his various fabrications, tricks, and cliches to con the helpless and control big0ted people.
Obi has recanted that he cannot fix the problem of Nigeria; he has started making excuses, proof that he is not competent and lacks the cognitive ability to become Nigeria’s president.
We must not continue to support the habitual importer of groceries, which has damaged our currency and economy the most over the past seven years. His confession that he has no solution to Nigeria’s problem should be taken seriously. Obi lacks the skills necessary for managing Nigeria’s economy and diversity, which are essential for anyone hoping to win the Presidency in 2023. We must allow him to bow and depart the stage; his admissions that he cannot provide a solution to our myriad of challenges and his sustained justifications for not having manifestos are signals we cannot afford to ignore, or we will suffer for an additional eight years.
Nigerians need a critical problem solver and a quick fixer in 2023, not one who will continue with excuses.
