This is a set of quadruplets delivered in a Primary health center in Anambra State. If you look at the picture on your right, you will find that the woman in black is crying profusely.
The story is that she put to bed through a ceasarian session (CS) and upon being informed that his wife had been delivered of four healthy babies, her husband fled to unknown destination switching off his phone. These couple didn’t know that the Anambra State Government’s Free antenatal and delivery program covers both CS. So, the thought of the expected bill, which ordinarily should be within some millions of Naira, made what should be a happy moment sad for this blessed couple.
When the wife of the Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, upon hearing the news of this unique delivery decided to visit the babies, informed the lady of the government’s policy she broke down in tears of joy. This is one of the life changing feats of the Soludo Administration that has brought succor to ndi Anambra.
Since July when this policy was introduced, hospital delivery has jumped from 245 in July, to 1256 as at December, 2023.
