There’s A Big Difference Between Soludo & Obi

I have always maintained that the difference between Soludo and Peter Obi will take some people light years to understand.
Now, let me help you.
In 2017 when Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and detained without trial by the FG, it was Soludo who led a delegation of selected Igbo leaders to pay him a visit in Kuje. His call afterwards was simple: it is unlawful to hold a person in custody without trial. We know what happened after that call. He was released on bail and the rest of the subsequent issues are now history. At that time Peter Obi was nowhere to be found. If he said or did anything, please show us!
Again, Nnamdi was rearrested and this time the prosecution was delaying filing a credible basis for his trial. While this legal gymnastics was on, Soludo again called for his bail and offered to stand surety to allay fears that he would jump bail. This is a man who understands that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. The FG immediately opened its case against Nnamdi.
In 2022, when Soludo discovered that the so-called IPOB/ESN secessionist agenda was just a smokescreen for criminality, he flew to Abuja and requested to meet with Nnamdi Kanu to discuss the situation with him, especially the now-forgotten Monday sit-at-home order. After that meeting, pictures emerged with the clear message from Nnamdi Kanu that he did not order anyone to sit at home nor die for the sake of Biafra, though he lied. What did his then criminal protégé in Finland do? He ordered ESN terrorists to disregard Soludo and whatever message he came with from Nnamdi Kanu. Autopilot was launched and the carnage continued in the Southeast.
This was when Soludo removed his gloves and started fighting these monsters created by IPOB/ESN. Again, where was Peter Obi in all this? Nowhere. He said nothing and did nothing! If this is false, show proof.
Later, Soludo and a few well-meaning individuals continued to pressure the FG to expedite Kanu’s trial. His trial commenced and closed with Kanu at first refusing to put up a defense. His obtuseness was manifest and his legal team could no longer manage him. He elected to represent himself and what followed remains a major scar on the collective sensibility of those who ever thought that Kanu was a normal and reasonable human being.
As is the case in law, the FG proved beyond reasonable doubt with audio-visual evidence and testimonies from victims affected by Kanu’s acts of terrorism. Conviction was secured and sentencing followed.
A Peter Obi who was silent all this while, did not ever say that Kanu did nothing wrong. Only to now come up after his conviction to cash in on Kanu’s emotional support base to shore up his dwindling popularity, openly telling the whole world that the Nigerian Judiciary was wrong in convicting a man whose terroristic acts were proven beyond doubt?
Thank God for time and history! I will leave it at this…
