The former National Chairman of APGA, Chief Sir Victor Umeh (Ohamadike Igbo and Ibobo Aguleri) was Live on Channels Television yesterday morning to address the controversies surrounding the leadership of APGA and reoccurring Court orders bedevilling the party.
He asked a critical question; why did INEC abandon the leadership of APGA that they have dealt with for the past two years?

He made it known to the viewers that Nigerians deserve to know the truth concerning APGA political situation in Anambra state. He stated that INEC have no business  with Jude Okeke and the obnoxious court order from Jigawa High Court which led to the wrongful substitution of Prof Charles Soludo’s name with Umeoji who was disqualified during the June 23 APGA Governorship primaries.

According to Sir Victor Umeh, “I was the National Chairman of APGA for ten years. My tenure ended in 2015 and a national convention was organized where Victor Oye emerged as the National Chairman and Labaran Maku emerged as the National Secretary. In 2019, their tenure had to be renewed and they informed INEC of the venue of the convention which held at Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka. INEC sent their officials to monitor the exercise”.

“These people that appeared on LIVE television and said they were having a NEC meeting were people I have never met in my life. Jude Okeke is someone I don’t know and have never met with. He claims to be Edozie Njoku’s deputy, a man not recognized as National Chairman for the past two years and suddenly becomes the Acting National Chairman of APGA on July 15 this year. Edozie Njoku on his part argued he held a National Convention in 2019 at Owerri where INEC never went to.”

“On the 18th of November 2020, Anambra State Federal High Court gave an order validating the leadership of Victor Oye and his team after their re-election in the 2019 APGA National Convention that held in Awka. Why did INEC refuse to obey the subsisting court order and rather chose to  obey the obnoxious and kangaroo court order from Jigawa? A Court order that didn’t mention Victor Oye being removed as National Chairman of APGA?”

“It’s very obvious that Umeoji and his counterpart, Jude Okeke are agents of distraction to pull APGA down in this forthcoming governorship election but their evil schemes will not work out. Prof Charles Soludo is the authentic candidate of APGA, produced in a free, fair and transparent governorship primaries. We believe that the Judiciary will do what is right and publish the name of the people’s choice.”
