A house wife, Mariam Wahab has been battered by three of her co-tenants for preventing them from engaging in joint sex with her younger sister she brought to stay with her.
Mariam was brutally attacked and had her hand broken and was taken to Orthopedic Hospital in Lagos for treatment.
The three tenants, Seun Arowolo, 24, Tolulope Makinde, 27, and Tobi Shobayo, 22 including their landlady, Mrs Kemi Labisi were arrested and charged before a Lagos court for conduct likely to cause breach of peace and assault.
The incident happened at 10, Araromi Street in Itire, Lagos where they reside.
Trouble started after Mariam brought her sister to stay with her and after some time, she noticed that her sister was rotatably sleeping with the suspects. She went to the landlady to complain about her discovery and the woman did nothing to caution the suspects.
When she could not bear her sister’s wayward life, she decided to send her away. Rather than allow the girl to go, the suspects prevented and offered to accommodate her so she can be passed around by the three suspects with the support of the landlady.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspects went ahead to share days they sleep with the girl in turns. This act prompted Mariam to forcefully demand that her sister should leave the house.
During the fracas, the suspects allegedly conspired and beat Mariam with one of them using a broken bottle to badly stab her hand.
The matter was reported to the police and the suspects were arrested and charged to court.
They pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail.
The matter was adjourned till 6 February 2017.
