TMC Holds 23rd Annual Ramadan Lecture In Ile Ife, Charges Muslims On Nation Building

One of the leading Islamic organizations in Nigeria, The Muslim Congress (TMC) Ile Ife branch, has held her 23rd Annual Ramadan Lecture.
The Ramadan Lecture, which was held at Enuwa Central Mosque on Sunday in Ile Ife, was attended by scores of dignitaries across the nation.
The lecture, which was tagged ‘Nation Building: Prophetic Method’ was delivered by Imam Sherifdeen Ibrahim, Naibul Amir Dawah Affairs, TMC National Headquarters.
According to Imam Sherifdeen Ibrahim, he urged Nigerian Muslims to always think of ways to contribute their quota to the development of the Country, irrespective of their socio-economic background.
He stressed that there is need for the Nigerian Muslims to cooperate among themselves, avoid tribalism and to enhance their spiritual life in view to promoting nation building.
The TMC Naibul Amir Dawah Affairs also stressed the need for the faithful to get interested in politics and acquire necessary knowledge needed for the nation building as well as to cultivate the habit of empowerment and giving.
The cleric charged well-meaning Nigerian Muslims to do more in the area of empowerment with which they can help to shift many away from the poverty line and debar depressive tendency’s leading to suicides.
He also spoke on the importance of tolerance and neighborliness.
Corroborating, the Chief Imam of Ife, Alhaji AbdulHammed AbdulSemiu said it is time that Nigerian Muslims should do away with ethnicity and Ideological diffrences but rather join hands in building a united nation to attract more development to the country.
He challenged Nigerian Muslims to arise, do what is right at all times and depart from all menace that had seriously affected the nation and embrace the word of Allah.
Speaking earlier, the Waali (Coordinator) of TMC, Ile Ife branch, Mr. Oyediran Asimiyu said the purpose of doing this program this year is to encourage the Nigerian Muslims on the need to promote nation building.
He urged the Muslims to get involved in policy making, stressing that leaving political office holders alone would spell doom for the ordinary people.
