Toni Kan Joins 9 Women To Speak At TEDxMendeWomen

Notable women and a male have been selected to speak at the maiden edition of TEDxMendeWomen holding in Lagos in November.

TEDWomen brings together a global community of people interested in exploring how change begins: with innovative thinkers who catalyze ideas toward action.

The invitation only event holding on Friday, November 3, 2017 has an array of speakers including Cathey Armillas, award winning author, Brand Strategist and TEDx Coach; Tope Oshin, film director; Toun Okewale-Sonaiya, Founder, WFM 91.7; Josephine Effah-Chukwuma of Project Alert; and Khadijah Abdullahi-Iyah, Publisher, SI Magazine & Founder Beyond Mentors. 

Also line-up for the one-day event are Nkiru Olumide-Ojo, Branding & Communications Expert and Founder, The Lighthouse Network; Uri Ngozichukwuka, Founder, Edwin, a not-for-profit organisation helping physically challenged women and girls; Oreoluwa Somolu Lesi, founder W-Tec centre for technology skills transfer and Toni Kan, poet, PR Expert, author and the only male speaker. 

Speaking on the event, Florence Atunwa Olumodimu, Marketing Communications Consultant & Licensee for TEDxMendeWomen said the 9 female Speakers and 1 male Speaker will focusing on the Theme: “Yes, We Can Build Bridges” from 9 a.m to 3p.m with the event highlights live streamed to fans and followers across Nigeria.

She added that the debut TEDxMendeWomen, in partnership with ntel, is a global event holding as a simulcast with the TEDWomen Conference holding in New Orleans, United States from 1 – 3 November with the #tedwomen.

“Over the past few years, TEDWomen and TEDxWomen have launched some powerful ideas into the world. Truly, the Nigerian Women are creative, full of ideas and optimism. We expected interested participants to follow us on this journey to connecting, engaging and sharing ideas worth spreading. There are nine female and a male speakers focusing on the Theme: “Yes, We Can Build Bridges”,” Olumodimu stated.

She further explained that Tosin Adefeko, PR Consultant and Vimbai Mutinhiri, Zimbabwean actress, model and television personality will anchor the event while R&B artiste Kola Soul, Yadinchima and others will perform.
