The awards, organised by Marketing Edge, celebrate excellence in marketing, communications and brand management in Nigeria. The dual recognition highlights both the agency’s institutional impact and Modupe’s personal contribution to the growth of public relations practice in the country.
For nearly three decades, TPT International has supported organisations in shaping conversations, managing reputation and building trust with key stakeholders. The latest honour comes at a time when strategic communications has become more critical than ever, as brands navigate a fast-changing media landscape shaped by digital disruption, heightened public scrutiny and evolving stakeholder expectations.
Today, organisations are required to do far more than gain visibility. They must build credibility, manage complex relationships and engage meaningfully with customers, employees, regulators, investors and the media. TPT International has built its practice around this reality, offering expertise in corporate communications, marketing public relations, public affairs, crisis communication, reputation management and strategic counsel.
Founded in 1997, the consultancy has grown into one of Nigeria’s most respected communications firms. Its approach focuses on helping clients anticipate challenges, respond effectively to issues, identify growth opportunities and strengthen long-term stakeholder engagement.
The double win at the EDGE Awards adds to a strong run of industry recognition for the agency. Earlier this month, TPT International was listed in the inaugural Africa Consultancy Performance Index 2026 published by Earned First. The index evaluated consultancies across key pillars including business performance, creative impact and client outcomes, innovation and thought leadership, talent and culture, and industry leadership.
Industry observers say the recognition reflects a broader shift in public relations across Africa, where the discipline has expanded beyond traditional media relations to include reputation strategy, influence management, stakeholder engagement and board-level advisory.
At the centre of TPT International’s journey is Adetokunbo Modupe, a seasoned communications practitioner and Harvard Business School alumnus. With decades of experience in public relations, marketing communications and strategic counsel, Modupe has played a significant role in shaping professional practice and mentoring emerging talent in the industry.
Under his leadership, TPT International has expanded its footprint across Africa while maintaining a strategic alliance with global communications network WE Communications. The partnership gives the agency access to international best practice while retaining deep local insight into the Nigerian and African markets.
Reacting to the honours, Modupe described the recognition as a milestone, but stressed that the agency remains focused on future growth.
“We know where we are today, and we know where we are building towards. This is a starting line, not a finish line. We will keep building,” he said.
The two EDGE Awards therefore represent recognition at both institutional and individual levels, celebrating the agency’s consistency and strategic relevance while acknowledging Modupe’s enduring influence on the profession.
After 29 years of helping organisations protect and project their brands, TPT International continues to shape its own story, one defined by strategic thinking, measurable impact and a commitment to advancing communications practice in Africa.
