Traders At The Alade Shopping Mall Finally Relocated

About a year ago, when the New Alade Market was commissioned by the wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Her Excellency Mrs Bolanle Ambode and traders moved to the new site, the traders doing their businesses at the multi floored Alade Shopping Mall did not move with the rest of the traders to the new site.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that this was caused by a disagreement between the traders, Ikeja Local Government, and the concessionaire- Master Reality International Concepts Limited.

The traders had insisted they were not carried along and must be resettled before they can agree to any relocation plan of the concessionaire.

The issue had lingered for a while without resolution.

But after series of meetings between the parties solution was worked out.

Wednesday 17 May, 2017 was a day of joy for the parties involved as the Sole Administrator of Ikeja Local Government, Engr Abiodun Taiwo commissioned the newly built shops where they relocated the traders.

In his speech at the event, Engr Taiwo said he was happy that the matter was resolved amicably for posterity sake and the traders were happy at the end of the day.

The Managing Director of Master Reality International Concepts Limited, Engr Lai Omotola used the opportunity to thank the traders for their patience while the matter lingered and Ikeja Local Government for their cooperation and understanding.

He used the opportunity to put matters straight after his earlier thought and insinuation that it was the market officer, Mr Wole Ogunlolu that made it impossible for the peaceful resolution of the matter.

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, the market officer, Ogunlolu said he was happy that the matter was resolved after series of litigation and accusations from both the traders and the concessionaire.

He said he was also elated that the concessionaire used the event to clear the air after some media reports had earlier alleged that he was the major factor inhibiting the amicable resolution of the matter.

The Iyaloja of Alade Shopping Mall, Alhaja Adiat Momodu-Apena in her remarks thanked the Sole Administrator, Engr Abiodun Taiwo for ensuring a peaceful resolution leading to the traders having a comfortable and business friendly environment.

She also thanked the concessionaire for living up to his promise.

The management staff of Ikeja Local Government, former Executive Secretary- Alhaji Dally-Adeokun, political leaders and royal fathers also graced the event.
