Traffic Robbers React Over CP Odumosu’s Warning

Some of the traffic robbers arrested and paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu, have reacted over the warning and threat by the CP Odumosu to deal decisively with them in the State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police boss gave serious warning to criminal elements especially the traffic robbers to leave the State or they will be arrested, prosecuted and jailed if they were caught.

But some of the suspects paraded at the State Command Ikeja, Lagos said that they had been going in and coming out of prison because of the harassment and intimidation by the Police, stressing that it had not been easy to operate in the State.

While parading the suspects, CP Odumosu stated that on 13th August, 2020, at about 1100hrs, some men, suspected to be hoodlums, were seen, converging in groups, with intent to commit felony at Cappa/NITEL compound Oshodi. Operatives from Mushin Division then mobilized to the scene. In the process, nine suspected traffic robbery suspects were arrested. They were Ismail Tosin ‘m’ 23years old, Lukman Nojeem ‘m’ 18years old, segun Ade ‘m’ 20 years old, Rafiu Jamiu ‘m’ 29 years old, Lateef Yusuf ‘m’ 28 years old, Mabinuola Wale ‘m’ 20 years old, Taiwo Hazan ‘m’ 19years old, Adeleke Oluwasegun ‘m’ 17years old and Adeniji saliu ‘m’ 18 years old. 

One locally made rifle with inscription S.S.C, one long jack knife and cutlasses were recovered from them.
He said that the gang were responsible for series of robberies mostly in traffic around CAPPA-Oshodi and its environs.

CP Odumosu said: “Let me use this opportunity to sound a big warning to traffic robbers and one chance robbery syndicates in Lagos State, their days as numbered. We are all out for them. I have set up a special operations to be coordinated by Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers. They will be supported by SARS operatives and Task Force”.
“The Command will continue to dominate the public space and sustain the gains recorded in the fight against crime and social disorder. Lagosians are assured of their security at all times.”

Other criminal suspects were also paraded, who were involved in cultism, murder, kidnapping and other related crimes in the State and will charged to Court after the conclusion of investigations.
Some arms and ammunition including other exhibits were recovered during the period under review by the Police.
