A 38-year old truck driver, Falana Akin, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly using the truck to carry goods without the consent of the company.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the driver, Akin, has been arrested and charged for his conduct.
The incident happened on 7th February, 2026 at Regina Coker Street Off Kofoworola, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the Police, the driver used the truck in his care, G1009 with Registration No. TRE 758 XB, to convey goods without the consent of the company and pocketed the money.
However, the information leaked and the matter was reported to the Police at MAN Centre Division. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the driver and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Falana Akin, ‘m’ between 6th and 7th February, Y2026, at Regina Coker Street Off Kofoworola Ikeja, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in manner likely to cause breach of peace by using the truck in your care, truck G1009 with Registration No. TRE 758 XB, to convey unauthorized goods without the consent of the company and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015.”
COUNT II: -“That you, FALANA AKIN ‘m’ between 6th and 14th February in the same place at the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully temper with the tracking device of the truck in your possession with Registration No. TRE 758 XB code G1009, to enable you effect the conveyance of unauthorized goods for your personal interest and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
