Twins Faja Staff Arrested For Bolting Away With Company’s N2m

Police operatives from Ejigbo Division have arrested a 33-year old staff of a popular super store, Olabode Suraji, for allegedly stealing the company’s money to the tune of N2m and bolting away in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the company’s outlet located at Jakanda Estate, Bucknor area of Ejigbo, Lagos, where Suraji was employed as a staff.
According to the Police, the suspect was employed by the company and deployed to the branch, where he had access to the money realized from the sales and tempered with it by  converting it to his own use.
The whole thing got exposed when the company embarked on internal audit and it was discovered that he did not pay the money into the company’s account having converted it to his own use.
The matter was reported to the Police; he was arrested and detained for interrogation over the conduct. Having admitted to have used the money, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty before the Court when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a short adjournment for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 19th January, 2023, for hearing.
