Two Lovers In Trouble For Attacking Security Guards With Dogs

Two lovers, Victor Eugene, 34 and Nancy Chinyerenwa, 26, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly using their dogs to attack two security guards while on duty and inflicting injures on them.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Fagbile Estate (Phase one),  Isheri Oshun area of Lagos State, where they reside.

 

The lovers, including the motorcycle operator who drove them, Nureni Uthman, 20, have been arrested and charged for their alleged conduct.

 

The two security men, Adekunle Omoyiwola and Omotosho Busayo, were seriously injured in the process. While Omoyiwola was injured by dog bites, Busayo was injured as a result of the beating he received from the two.

 

Trouble was said to have started after the lovers, Eugene and Nancy, went for a birthday party and came back to the estate at about 1am. They were accosted by the security guards, who held them for coming back late.

They initially pleaded and were asked to pay certain amount of money. Eugene then asked the guards to allow him to go to their house and bring some money while Nancy will remain at the gate.

However, when Eugene left the scene, he contacted two of his friends; one was said to be a soldier and the other a Legion Corps officer. They stormed the security gate and attacked the guards, while Eugene went to his house, brought the two dogs and unleashed them on the guards. It was in the process that one of the dogs gave one of the guards, Adekunle, a serious bite and injured his hand.

 

But they were held by the other security guards, handed over to the Police at Isheri Oshun Division and were detained for interrogation over their conduct.

After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, wandering and assault.

 

They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified.

The matter was adjourned till 5th July, 2023, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre, Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
