A man, Franklin Ighedosa, and his wife, Augustina, were battered by two neigbours, Sunday Ikeheloa and Monday Paul after the two men were accused of adultery in Lagos, Nigeria.
The incident happened at 20, Akinwanade street, Egan where the couple and the two men who attacked them reside.
Trouble started after Sunday Ikeheloa and Monday Paul reportedly sent a small boy to invite Franklin’s wife, Augustina, to their own apartment when the husband was not around.
When Ighedosa returned from work and heard what happened, he confronted Ikeheloa to know why he did so.
The matter degenerated into exchange of words and a fight.
During the fight, Ighedosa was allegedly attacked with cutlass on the head, while his wife, Augustina was also attacked and she sustained severe injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the police at Igando division who arrested Ikeheloa and Paul and took them to the station.
At the station, the suspects admitted that they actually invited Ighedosa’s wife but it was for a different purpose and not to sleep with her as alleged by her husband.
They were charged before the court with conspiracy and assault under the Criminal Code.
They pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adedayo granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail.
The matter was adjourned till 12 December, 2016.
