.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the two men, Olaitan Adewoye, 36 and Godwin Akpan defiled the victims in their homes. They were later caught and arrested by the Police at Gender section of the Police Command, Lagos.

While the 36-year old Adewoye reportedly defiled his 12 months old baby in his house at Balale Street, Opeki in Abesan Estate of Ipaja, Lagos. Mr. Akpan had engaged his own 6-year old daughter in his house at Modupe Street, off Balogun, Ikeja, Lagos, by fingering her private part. They were both arrested after the information leaked and the victims were rescued from them for protective custody.

Many who knew about the incident wondered what would have been the motive behind the act and how such act would have satisfied their sexual desires.
Mr. Akpan was said to have gone to his village in Akwa Ibom State, took the 6-year old victim, brought her to Lagos and started tempering her private part by inserting finger into it.

It was reported that the victim was taken to their neighbour’s place by his father while going to work. Police said that when Mr. Akpan returned from work in the evening and went to their female neighbour to take her home, the little girl refused. The little girl told their neighbour that her father was abusing her by inserting his finger into her private part. The matter was reported to the Police at Gender section and Mr. Akpan was arrested and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for sexual assault.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr Christopher John did not oppose his bail but informed the court that the victim was the biological daughter of the suspect.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter E. Nwaka granted him bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.

In the same court, Mr. Adewoye was said to have opened the pant of the 12 months old baby, was abusing her before the mother of the victim caught him and handed him over to the police.
The court denied him bail and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when he will be granted bail.
