PM EXPRESS can report that while the relations of the late Dr. George Ibude were busy mourning him, his workers were also busy stealing his money.
This was what the police were able to establish recently during the investigation of the theft of 5,000 dollars in the deceased’ house in Lagos.
Following the the theft, two suspects, Sannu Kehinde ,24 and Fayelu Oluwasegun,28, have been arrested and charged before a Lagos court with conspiracy and stealing .
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspects were alleged to have conducted themselves in a manner to cause breach of public peace by stealing the late Ibude’s money .
The incident happened at Abesan estate in Ipaja area of Lagos where the Ibudes reside
Our correspondent gathered that immediately the suspects and others now at large got information of Ibude`s death, they ransacked his apartment and stole $5,000 they found and went away .
One of the domestic staff who saw and knew what they did informed the deceased’s family .
The matter was reported to the police at Area M Command, Idimu where the suspects was arrested and detained .
During interrogation, it discovered that other suspects now at large were also involved in the act .
The suspects were charged before a Magistrate court sitting in Ejigbo for the alleged offence .
They pleaded guilty.
The presiding Magistrate , Mr Akeem Fashola granted the accused bail in the sum of Lagos N200,000 with two sureties in the like sum .
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions .
The matter was adjourned till 19 April 2017.
