The case involving the trial of two friends who cut off the head of a 7-year old boy for money ritual and admitted that they were asked to bring the head, has been moved from the Ebute Meta Magistrates court to Lagos High Court.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was the outcome of the advice of  Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP which recommended them for murder trial. In the DPP advise, the Director, Y.G. Oshoala noted that it was a clear case of conspiracy and murder as the defendants admitted that they agreed to strangle the boy, cut his body into pieces and dump in a canal.

The suspects Adedoyin Adekanmi, 23 and Erinmole Adetokunbo were arrested after they were caught with the head of the victim, Kazeem Rafiu.
The incident happened at 6 Oke Oniburokun Street, Odekekere in Ikorodu area of Lagos. They were handed over to the police in the area who transferred the matter to State Criminal Intelligent and Investigation Department, SCIID, Panti Yaba, Lagos.

The police charged him before Ebute Meta Magistrates court for the alleged conspiracy and murder. They were however denied bail. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Fowowe-Enifiafe ordered them to be remanded in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to send their file to DPP for advice.
Since then, they were remanded in prison pending when the advice will be ready.

It was the advice that has directed the suspects to be moved to Lagos High Court to face murder. The suspects had admitted that they needed money and so they planned to strangle the boy and take to their native doctor to prepare ritual money for them. However, when they were going to the native doctor, they were arrested by the police.
