A 28-year old married woman, Mrs. Precious Godfrey, displayed her boxing
prowess by engaging a 27-year old single lady, Miss Hope Effiong, in a public
fight and knocked off her teeth in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ifelodun Street, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where they reside.
During the fight, Mrs. Precious Godfrey was said to have had the upper hand to the surprise of their neighbours as she knocked off Hope Efiong’s teeth which ended the fight.
Hope was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment
as she was said to have bled profusely.
Trouble was said to have started as Mrs. Precious was returning from Church and
Hope reportedly mocked her having known Precious secret life. In reaction, Mrs.
Precious started cursing Hope and their exchange of words later resulted in
them engaging in public fight and Hope had her teeth knocked off.
The matter was reported to the Police and they were
arrested. The Police later charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for
the alleged affray.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, then asked the
Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police
to prove that they actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O.Shomade, granted them bail in the sum of N50,000
with one surety in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail
conditions. The matter was adjourned till 16th March, 2020.
