U.N.C.E.N.S.O.R.E.D Enefe Exposed!

In the summer of the year 1998, Enefe, an accomplished international business man returned to Nigeria to contribute his own quota in the political process of rebuilding the country after a long period of military rule. He forayed into the murky waters of Nigerian politics when he founded a national political platform known as the New Nigerian Party which later collapsed into Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Enefe was later appointed as a member of the PDP’s National Electoral Committee in 1999, a body charged with the mandate of resolving disputes arising from party primary elections. Also, he became the team leader of the fund raising committee for PDP Presidential elections campaign in 1999. As a media consultant and publisher, late President Musa Yaradua commissioned his media outfit to write and publish the first ever country biography on Nigeria titled “Nigeria Transits” sponsored by Federal Ministry of Information and launched by Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

In the year 2014, Enefe, who lived in Abuja, relocated to Anambra State, and in grand style decamped to All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in total solidarity and support to the governorship ambition of his in-law, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, who he worked with during the 2014 gubernatorial elections in Anambra.

After the successful election and inauguration into office, Governor Willie Obiano had a running battle with dare devil criminals in Anambra, expressing patriotism, Enefe saw the need to join hands with the state government in the war against the ugly menace of criminals.  In a dogged effort to halt the spate of insecurity in the state, as it were, Enefe met with Governor Willie Obiano and advanced a request proposal on a major security summit in the state. The event was later christened ‘Stakeholders Security Summit’, where huge funds were raised through his broad network of connections; huge financial donations were realized to tackle the security challenges in the state. The high powered gathering of security experts, stakeholders, technocrats, and politicians successfully birthed and berthed the security frame work deployed by His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano’s led state government to nib the security challenges in the bud. Undoubtedly, Ekene Enefe had been engaged in strategic partnership roles with Anambra state government in the areas of security, and Internally Generated Revenue, IGR .

As a proud member and key stakeholder in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Enefe has supported the party hugely towards its growth and development both at the national, state and grassroots levels. He was the initiator of the virile political group popularly known as ‘Stakeholders for Willie Obiano’s Reelection 2017’, a group of men and women of strong character, influential and dynamic who traversed the nooks and crannies of Anambra and beyond.

He remained a force in APGA till date. In a renewed bid to attract dividend of democracy to his people, Enefe has declared his intention to run for a seat in the Federal House Of Representatives, soliciting the support of the good people of Oyi/Ayamelum Federal constituency to send him as their representative for a change they can see, feel and touch.

His critics always described him as an Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency irredentist. In Oyi/Ayamelum Local Government areas respectively, he championed an advocacy based on the idea that the Federal Government should help indigenes realise the benefits of democracy, and that the age-long dilapidated federal roads should be reconstructed or constructed to open up the areas’ vast opportunities in agriculture. In an interview in March, 2018, he said that the Oyi/Ayamelum had been neglected despite the great contributions they make to the national food basket.

At political gatherings and all events for that matter, Enefe usually stood out with his advocacy slogan ‘Nzoputa’ which rents the air more than any other aspirant’s campaign slogan in Anambra State. Also, his exceptional Igbo traditional dress code equally makes him noticeable.
