With his people’s oriented leadership exhibition, Governor Udom Emmanuel has in three years traversed through the pulses of Akwa Ibom people, visited the abandoned portion of their travails, device strategies of mitigating the challenges that scare crowed their living standards and reignited the lost passion for participation in politics.

The pursuit of his administration is in tandem with the belief of Lisa Haisha, an American Author, Who posited that “great leaders don’t set out to be a leader; they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role – always about the goal”

Statistics have shown that every sector of the economy has felt the Midas touch of Emmanuel, who on 29th May, 2015 swore to leave an indelible mark on the sands of governance in the state thus, shoving politics aside for a pattern of development that is beyond the ordinary.

The health sector reforms undertaken by the Udom’s administration elicits hope for the common man with health challenges, whose medical care in the days of old was channeled to hospitals in big cities or overseas for treatment .

Itu Mbang, Ikot Okoro, Ikot Okpo, Etinan general hospitals are amongst the many that has been renovated and equipped within modern paraphernalia to meet the health needs of the people. The equipment procured to give the state hospitals a facelift includes but not limited to: electrocardiograph 3 Channels, colonoscopy (with halogen light), x-ray film processor, x-ray film viewer, gastroscope, operating theatre light (5-Spot light), operating table, anastasia trolley with ventilator and monitor, syringe pump, electro surgical units, monopolar-bipolar operating instruments, suction pump and host of other state-of-the art equipment including CT Scanners, Surgical microscope for eyes.

The hospital which hitherto was an eyesore today wears a new look with state-of-the art medical equipment to go with it; this is one of the things Governor Udom will be remembered for at the expiration of his tenure in 2023.
