Till this day, ndi Anambra may not have heard the real story revolving around Pa Obaze’s premature exit from government house, and the consequentialism of the impotent balloting adoption as godson by the ex Governor Peter.
During the last days of Mr Peter as the Governor of Anambra state, Pa Obaze was briskly flown into the country to serve as the Secretary to State Government. It was later discovered that the out going Governor Peter sought the services of the acclaimed diplomat to assist in superintending the smooth transition of government of the day to next dispensation.
Pa Obaze’s mandate also includes but not limited to cleaning up of all the untidy activities of the then government. It was believed to be timely designed to wade off public probing eyes, and opposition’s active agitation against the alarming crescendos government house bologna activities and frivolous expenditures were conducted.
It was a perfect plot to retire any free mind within, who proved bull cranky headed towards questioning the shabby and speedy dilation of government house secretarial bursary. He was hastily punched into the system to painstakingly absorb and control public perception of the sudden negative change in governments modus operandi.
While in office under Mr Peter’s watch, it was alleged that Pa Obaze could not assent to any official requests brought to his desk without asking for ‘gratification’ also known as “PR’ within official quarters. No one could get him to append his almighty signature on any official documents without “settlement’, A situation that endured under the watchful eyes of His Excellency Mr Peter.
As time clicked away, Pa Obaze conspicuously developed crafty wings so much so that nothing works in and around government house without his ” prepaid signature’. He was later to be celebrated by his erstwhile boss man who singled him out as the best man to be deployed against leaking proves of financial recklessness and rascality, and the overbearing media reptilian approach to the opposition’s outcry against perceived and or identified sleaze prevalent at the time.
Prior to his exit, Mr Peter sold to the unsuspecting incoming Governor Obiano the idea of retaining the thespian services of Pa Obaze as it were. According to Mr Peter it was expedient and ultimately necessary to have the SSG continued in office based on sacred bond of friendship, and Loyalty. This melted the ever Godly heart of “Akpokue” who accommodated Pa Obaze in his nascent government. A fatal mistake he would pray not to have a repeat.
As the new administration berthed under His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, strange manipulations of the system began to take premenstrual circle. The sustained wicky ricky traceable abuse of office was discovered, and diagnosed as a mole in Governor Willie Obiano’s led state government. The unrepentant trick star tried to reinvent his baltic mannerism of ‘settle me’ bear lucency, an impossible mission under Governor Willie Obiano’s eagle eyes.
The central vigilance architecture against bribery could not allow the gluttonous SSG Obaze to exhume his once lucrative business. Obviously, the all new working environment established by Gov. Obiano determinably frowns at irregularities associated with official fiefdom, as corrupt enablers responsibly perpetuated via ‘business as usual” conmanism were dismantled with no caution.
Not too long, the man of the pen was allegedly accused of economically sabotaging the office of the governor, and always in the habit of harassing opposite sex, and running his office like a personal estate.
Consequently, he could not fit into the new order, coupled with the fact that Mr Peter’s original intention of implanting the character failed, he recalled the isolated godson, and nurtured him into political vindictivism, and brouchmanism.
Currently, the resulting ‘politricksical’ dividends could be visibly seen as the latest development in the Anambra state governorship election whereby a disgruntled SSG now aspires to unseat his former boss, proudly sponsored by his mentor who in the first instance ferried him to the corridors of power to mask his misdemeanors while in office.
Ndi Anambra, as events unfold , it has become hugely our responsibility to dig deep into political office seekers and make our findings public in an effort to enlighten, inform and educate the electorates to be weary of deceptive characters, and their spouting political meanderings.
