As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, stakeholders aligned with the political ideology of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are intensifying efforts to galvanise support among Nigerians in the diaspora.

In this regard, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors North America Conference and Inauguration Ceremony is scheduled to hold in Houston, Texas, United States, with key government officials and political figures expected to attend.

According to organisers, the conference is aimed at mobilising Nigerians in the diaspora in support of President Tinubu’s administration and fostering engagement on the government’s policy direction, particularly in the areas of economic reforms, investment and governance.

Among personalities expected at the event are Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma; Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa; and the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Tayo Ayinde, alongside other political leaders and professionals from Nigeria, the United States and Europe.

The event will be held on Saturday July 11, 2026 at Sonesta Hotel, IAH, Houston.

Semiu Ayoola Olanipekun, the General coordinator of the initiative, and chief host of the event disclosed that the conference would serve as a platform to deepen conversations around diaspora participation in national development, with emphasis on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and strengthening intellectual contributions from Nigerians abroad.

He further explained that the organisers intend to use the summit to bridge perceived communication gaps between the Federal Government’s economic policies and Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly concerning ongoing fiscal and tax reforms under the Tinubu administration.

According to him, the forum would also address concerns around misinformation by providing what organisers described as factual engagements on the long-term implications of government reforms and economic policies.

The organisers further noted that the conference seeks to establish a framework for sustained engagement between Nigerian-Americans and the Federal Government, while drawing symbolic connections to President Tinubu’s formative years in Chicago, Illinois.

Speaking on the forthcoming inauguration, the organisation’s Woman Leader, Yeye Subulola Fashina described the event as a pioneering initiative in North America aimed at promoting the ideals of the Renewed Hope agenda and mobilising support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“This inauguration is the first of its kind in North America and is aimed at promoting the Renewed Hope agenda while encouraging support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election,” she stated.
