The residents of Idi Araba in Mushin area of Lagos were in joyful mood after the Police operatives arrested the most dreaded cultist and robbery kingpin, Kareem Sodiq, popularly known as Inspector, during operation in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect, Inspector, had been on the Police wanted list for several years to the extent that the residents tagged him invisible because of the manner in which he had escaped Police arrest and continued to terrorise the area over a long period of time.

However, his reign came to an end after the Police trailed and eventually arrested him during an operation in Itire area of Lagos.
Inspector was born and brought up in Mushin but her parents were said to be from Kwara State but reside in Lagos. He was said to be one of the cult leaders terrorising the area; causing violence with his members.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect and his gang members went to Itire Road and Awawa Street, brought out their guns and shot sporadically. With the shooting, they instilled fear into the residents before they started robbing on 4th June, 2019.
But unknown to them, the police team from Olosun were trailing them. The Police operatives succeeded in rounding up and arresting Inspector while the other members of his gang escaped.
He was detained at the police station before he was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and armed robbery.
When he was arraigned, the prosecutor, Inspector Koti, informed the Court that the defendant was charged for the offence of armed robbery which required the DPP’s advice before his trial.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, did not take his plea and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 18th July, 2019, for report of the DPP to be ready. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommend his trial for armed robbery.
Some of the residents were present in Court to know if he was the one that was actually arrested but not to facilitate his bail condition which was not granted by the Court.
