The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South West), Moremi Ojudu, has said that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to community empowerment.
Moremi made the disclosure during her visit to Iwaya and Makoko communities in Lagos State.
She said, “It is our duty to witness firsthand the realities faced by those living in underserved communities and to initiate measures to address their pressing needs. This made me pay a visit to the the Iwaya and Makoko communities of Yaba”.
“I engaged with community leaders and individuals, listening intently to their concerns and proposed solutions. From inadequate access to clean water, poor drainage system and sanitation conditions, it became evident that urgent action was required to improve the quality of life for the residents.”
“As part of our commitment to community support, we distributed care packages and other items to members of the community, addressing their immediate needs and acknowledging their challenges.”
“Through collaborative efforts with relevant stakeholders, we are committed to implementing initiatives that will address the challenges faced by the these communities. These include the provision of clean water sources, improved sanitation facilities, good drainage services and many more. All of these are essential in breaking the cycle of poverty and enabling economic empowerment.”
“Together, we will continue to strive for a brighter and more equitable future for every community across our great nation” she concluded.
