We’re Lucky To Have Archbishop Obinna As Our Own, Says Prof Placid Chike Njoku

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Prof Placid Chike Njoku, has poured encomiums on the outgoing Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese, His Grace, Arch Bishop AJV Obinna, describing him as a light that has shown steadily and brightly to illuminate the people’s path for over 50 years. 

Describing the Archbishop as a source of joy and pride to the Owerri man, His Excellency the Deputy Governor noted that the brilliance, astuteness, character and vision of his grace the Archbishop turned him into one of the best exports of Ndi Owerri to the world. 

 Prof Placid Chike Njoku was speaking while representing the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, the most Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma at the 50th Anniversary Mass and Thanksgiving for Archbishop AJV Obinna, which held at the iconic Maria Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri, with dignitaries from all over the world coming into Imo State to honour the out going Bishop. 

The Deputy Governor stated that His Excellency, the Governor, is a well known dedicated and practising Catholic, who derives great joy in the things of God and service to the church, while partnering with the Catholic Church for progress, insight, and general development. These, stayed the Deputy Governor, remains the reason for the good and robust relationship the Government of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has maintained with the Catholic Church.

An elated Archbishop AJV Obinna would thank the state Government for having a listening ear and working hard to improve infrastructure in the state and even around the church.
