Head Coach of Lagos State football team, Adeshina Yusuf, has praised his players for proven their worth as competent and skillful players despite losing to Team Edo at the final of football event at the ongoing Edo 2020 National Sports Festival in Edo State.
Yusuf, whose team lost 2-3 to Team Edo, said the squad through the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), complied with directives of the Games Main Organising Committee (MOC) by parading football players who were from well structured football academies in the state.
The coach said the policy of LSSC negated poaching of football players, hence the reason why the team’s technical crew worked very hard to prepare a team which worked very hard to attain to this level at the ongoing festival.
He mentioned that some of his football players had gone on trials with tops European football clubs, stressing that some of the players who played at the Games would also embark on similar journey very soon.
On the number of his players who the technical crew of Bendel Insurance had shortlisted for recruitment, Yusuf advised the club’s management to meet the players’ managers in order to seal a contractual agreement.
