The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for recently constituting a tripartite Economic Advisory Council peopled by eminent Nigerians with proven capacity for success in private and public life.
In a statement signed by Mazi Ejimofor Opara, National Publicity Secretary of APGA, the party said, “The inclusion of the National Leader of our party, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, on the Economic Advisory team of Mr. President did not come to us as a surprise. This is in itself is an affirmation of what has become traditional with previous Presidents, who go out of the conventional to seek the renowned global Economist at very critical moments”.
“We are confident in the ability of this team to help Mr. President turn around the economic fortunes of the country and bring her back to the path of prosperity. Once again, we thank President Tinubu for looking beyond partisan interest and putting the Nation first in this critical period.”
“We join other patriotic Nigerians and progressive minded persons to call for patience and support for the governments of the day. As a party, we recognize that personal sacrifices must be made for the greater good of all of us. This is why the Anambra State APGA government under the leadership of Prof. Soludo has insisted on changing governance systems and structures from a largely transactional arrangement to one focused on infrastructural development. This is exemplified by the Anambra State 2024 budget which has a record 77% Capital Expenditure side and 23% recurrent.”
