The 10-year-old marriage between a housewife, Aisha Jibrin and her estranged husband, Abdul-Rasheed Bello, has collapsed after the couple told the Judge in Court that they were really tired of their marriage and asked the Court to dissolve it.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the wife, Mrs. Jubril, went to Area One Court in Kubwa, Abuja and filed a divorce against her husband,  Bello, over irreconcilable differences asking the Court to dissolve the marriage.
In response, her husband, Bello, also informed the Court that he was also tired of the marriage and consented to the dissolution of the marriage so that each can go their separate ways.
The Presiding Judge, Malam Muhammad Adamu, consequently dissolved the marriage following Jibrin’s prayer to the Court for confirmation of divorce.
The Judge, Adamu, ordered Jibrin to observe “Iddah”, which is a waiting period, to be observed for three months, before contracting another marriage and the man, Bello, should provide for the children and if there is no reconciliation after the Iddah, the issue of child custody can be filed.
Earlier, Mrs. Jibrin had told the Court that she got married to Bello under the Islamic Personal Law 10 years ago and the marriage was blessed with three children. She alleged that her estranged husband, Bello, was maltreating her and disrespects her parents.
”He pronounced divorce to me many times and sent me packing to my family house six months ago. I am tired of the marriage and no longer interested” Mrs. Jibrin said.
In his response, Bello consented to the divorce saying that he had endured a lot from Jibrin and was also tired of the marriage.
”I am a businessman and owned two cars. But I sold them to solve personal issues in our home. My wife nags. Every morning when I wake up from sleep, Jibrin curses and utters offensive words at me. I am also tired, ” he said.
