WGB Lagos FA Cup: Buruj Not Afraid Of Smart City – Salaudeen

Chairman and Founder of Buruj Sports Academy, Dr Waheed Buruj Salaudeen, has expressed confidence that his boys and coaching crew are in high spirit to give Smart City Football Club a run for their money when both teams clash in the Round of 32 in the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup.

The pulsating match will hold on Saturday at 12pm at Alade Sports Centre, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.

Salaudeen in a chat with our correspondent said his team are not afraid to play defending champions boasting that his boys are ready to give their best comes on Saturday.

“Our match against Smart City would be an interesting and tough one because a lot of football fans would like to come and see if we can cause upset. Of course, my boys are not afraid of their opponents and they are in the best form of their lives to shock Smart City,” he said.

The club administrator said the players have engaged in many friendly matches and competitions and their level of fitness is quite impressive. He explained that they have prepared for the Lagos FA Cup and they are not ready to leave the tournament in the early stage.

Buruj Sports Academy are currently playing in Nationwide League One, a third-tier Nigerian league.

In the fixtures released by the organizers on Monday, four matches would be played on Wednesday across two centres. The newly promoted Nigeria National League club, Collins Edwin FC would face a herculean task as they face a premier club side, MFM International by 3 pm at Alade Sports centre, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.

Iganmu FC would slug it out against Gbagada FC at Strong Tower Academy football pitch, Ikorodu. May FC face Zenith Emperor at Strong Tower Academy, Ikorodu, while Ighalo FC keep a date with Vinning United at Alade Sports Centre.

On Thursday, Messiah FC would be in action as they confront BYT at Epe centre, Dannaz FC battle Odic at Alade Sports Centre, while Maryland FC meet Box To Box FC at Alade Sports Centre.

Action resumes on Friday when First Bank take on Atlantic Business at Strong Tower Academy, Ikorodu, NNL Club, Joy Cometh face Billionaire FC at Alade Sports Centre, Ipaja Command, while MFM Feeder confront 36 Lion at Epe centre as Valiant FC welcome FC Robo at Alade centre.

On Saturday, Defending champions, Smart City would face Buruj Sports at Alade Sports Centre by 12pm, Vandrezzer FC take on Jo Sportyne FC at Alade sports centre, Young Stars would keep a date with AS Racine at Alade centre, while Liqui Moly face Emmydinho at Epe centre as Magate battle Spartans at Epe centre.
