Ahead of the forthcoming Party Primaries and upsurge in political activities across the country, the former Sole Administrator of Ikeja Local Government Area, Lagos State, Engr. Dr. Abiodun Taiwo, spoke to selected senior correspondents on some burning Political issues.

*The Primaries of the political parties are just weeks away. Who are you supporting for the Presidency?*

All the aspirants in our great party, APC, are eligible in their own right. Notwithstanding, my preferred candidate is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I’m more comfortable with the Leader of leaders;  he is the National Leader of our great party. Who else would you rather want me to support other than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu?
We must avoid an accidental President if we want to move away from the current situation.
Those with vision must have personal ambition first before midwifing it into a mission and thereafter making it known. The quest for leadership must be deliberate and audacious. Enough of pushing people to rule Nigeria and turning the leadership into something else.

Asiwaju Tinubu is the only one, who is more than prepared to serve as the next President of Nigeria.
A man with the managerial experience;  positive, ideological and political capacity to move Nigeria to an economically and politically stable country, which can stand at per with any country in the world.

*You’re a stakeholder in Lagos State. What’s your assessment of the achievements of Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu? Will you support his reelection?*

To God’s glory, our amiable Governor has done very well in following the master plan of Lagos State, whereby tangible and visible developments were embarked on by him from inception. The Governor has done very well even in the face of sociopolitical and security hindrances. Kudos to Mr Governor!

*You’re from Ikeja Federal Constituency. What’s your assessment of your representative, Hon James Abiodun Faleke?*

It would be an understatement to say that Hon. Faleke is doing very well to effect the dividends of democracy within his Federal Constituency. He’s the best representative Ikeja Federal Constituency has ever had because of his quality representation to the people of Federal Constituency and impactful leadership, which has been showcased in the last 3 years.

*You are at the forefront of clamour for the re-election of Faleke, is this an endorsement for him by you and how does this affects your own aspiration?*

The idea was not bore by me, it is a “community project”.
It will have no direct or indirect effect on my aspirations.
Remember Hon. Faleke is also an  aspirant, notwithstanding his incumbency status and he may not be able to influence any other aspirants for other positions as he is also seeking a ticket in the same electoral process. Moreover, I didn’t start the crusade of “Ikeja Earnestly Asks For Faleke”, the Royal Fathers started it. The political leaders unanimously endorsed him, the Constituents wants him, he is the favourite amongst the traders and craft men. Everybody wants Faleke.
How better will you describe a selfless man, who has brought prosperity and stability to Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Request for Faleke is a household project not an individual project.

*There had been rumours that you’re set to contest for the House of Representatives. Some others said you’re interested in going to the Senate while others said it is the House of Assembly. Which position are you actually vying for?*

All those positions are good, so those who are saying and wishing that I contest desire good things for me. But sincerely speaking, I don’t want to contest for any of those positions except for the seat of the House of Assembly, Ikeja Constituency 2. And God’s willing, with the support from all my people, victory shall be delivered.

*What are your chances at the primaries?*

Bright, very very bright. I’ve been going about my consultations without any distraction or hindrances. I have the assurances of my people and by the Grace of God, I will emerge victorious.

*As we move closer to 2023, what type of leadership do you think we need to move forward?*

We earnestly need transformative leadership; dynamic and progressive leaders, who know the problems of the nation and can proffer the needed solutions.

*What exactly do you mean by Transformative Leadership?*

It’s a Leadership that is result oriented, people focused and community development based with the capacity to always bridge the gap between the party/government and the good people of this Constituency.
