Why I Slept With My 14-Year Old Daughter – Man, 45, Opens Up

A 45-year old man, Kayode Abegunde, has reportedly opened up and told the Police in Lagos that he was tempted, he fell for it, and eventually slept with his 14-year old daughter defiling her in the process.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Kayode, was arrested by Police operatives from Gender Section of Command over the dastardly act. 

The incident happened at Adealu Street, Dopemu Agege area of Lagos, where they reside. 

The suspect, Kayode, was alleged to have lured her daughter, forcefully engaged her in sex and she lost her virginity in the process.

Traumatized by her father’s action, she exposed him and he was arrested by the Police in the area and before being transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.

During interrogation, he reportedly explained that it was a temptation and pleaded for forgiveness over his conduct but that was already late.

The Police found his action culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court of Law. 

However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, for the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, ordered his remand in custody without an option of bail pending the outcome of the DPP’s report. 

The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.

The matter was adjourned till 24th January, 2022, for report of the DPP to be ready while the defendant will remain in custody without bail over the act.
