Why I Strived Hard To Attract Projects To Communities – Ekwunife

As the curtain gradually draws close to an eventful and people-focused representation, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has revealed why she made attraction of projects to the people of the constituency one of her priorities.
Ekwunife, who will be leaving office in June, noted that despite the fact that the primary function of a lawmaker is to make laws for peace, order and good governance, she leveraged on the platform she has as a member of the National Assembly to draw the attention of the Federal Government to the developmental challenges in her Senatorial District thereby attracting numerous projects and programmes to the zone.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremonies of St. Thomas Nkwelle Road Oraukwu and Okpokaji Road Abba, the quintessential lawmaker stated that road construction is one of the most critical enablers of economic growth.
“Understanding that nothing opens up communities like roads and other infrastructural projects, I strived hard to attract a fair share of development to our people within the reach of my office. Anambra people are industrious and place high value on roads because good road network facilitates ease of movement”, the Federal lawmaker stated.
The Senator while thanking the people of the Senatorial District for their support, stated that the outcome of the last election was the will of God.
“I was born as Uche, the Senator in my name was made possible by God through the mandate of the people. I am satisfied with my records of achievement”, she added.
It’s important to note that Senator Ekwunife will be leaving office with 30 bills and 17 motions to her name. Making her number 3 amongst Senators with the highest number of bills and motions in the 9th Senate.
