In a rather heavy shake-up within the Lagos State Command the RRS Commander, CSP Saheed Egbeyemi and the Task Force Chairman, CSP Shola Jejeloye and other officers were redeployed by Lagos CP, Adegoke Fayoade.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fayoade, recently redeployed some of the officers within the Command with the hope to achieve more effective policing.
While CSP Jejeloye, who was in charge of Lagos State Task Force, was said to have survived the shake up as he was redeployed to Lagos Rapid Response Squad, RRS, as Commander, the former RSS Commander, CSP Egbeyemi was deployed to the less prominent position as DFA Commander at the State Command headquarters, which is a unit stationed at the Command only for emergencies, thereby reducing his scope of influence unlike the RRS.
The Officer-in-charge of LAMATA, CSP Adetayo Akerele, was moved to replace Jejeloye at the Lagos State Task Force. Other officers affected by the transfer were SP Ndufiok Emmanuel from DFA to 2 I/C Gender Section, ASP Oladiti Ayodeji from DFA to CP TT Adamo Ikorodu, and W/Inspr Ekong Carol from SCID Panti Yaba to Elomoro Division.
The Police boss gave order that  everyone involved in the shake-up is to move to his new duty post with immediate effect.
P.M.EXPRESS investigation revealed that the officers were not aware that they will be redeployed until it was announced by the CP, Mr. Fayoade, who kept the plan to himself before he announced it.
The duo of Jejeloye and Egbeyemi were said to be surprised over their redeployment and were shocked that the Lagos State Government did not intervene on their behalf as they had done in the past to retain them due the sensitivity of their positions.
It was also learnt that the Lagos State Government led by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu may have tactical approved the deployment and needed fresh hands with fresh ideas to manage RRS and the Task Force, who are directly working at Alausa.
It was also gathered that the State Government was aware of numerous petitions against RRS and Task Force  Commanders in the past but our reporter was unable to confirm if it was the reason the State Government did not intervene to retain Egbeyemi and Jejeloye in their former positions.
The duo of Jejeloye and Egbeyemi may have made enemies within the Police Lagos State Command in the course of doing their job as some officers were said to have complained that Egbeyemi and Jejeloye were arrogant in offering assistance to Police officers because they were working under the Lagos State Government.
“Another factor that may have led to their redeployment is the number of years they have spent in the positions unlike other units within the Police formation like the DPO. Clearly judging by the number of years they have spent in the positions, it was obvious that the CP did the right thing to redeploy them,” Police sources asserted.
