Wife Of Oyi LG Mayor, Mrs. Obiamaka Nweke Advocates Healthy Living Lifestyle Amongst Council Women

 

In a passionate drive to further enlighten women on preventive health and encourage them to key into the Healthy Living campaign of Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the amiable wife of Oyi Local Government Mayor, Mrs. Obiamaka Nweke, yesterday had an interactive session with the women of Oyi Local Government at the LG Secretariat hall.

Addressing the women, Mrs. Nweke noted some life style when adopted, would help prevent health challenges. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the reckless attitude of some women towards their health and overall wellbeing due to family burdens.

Mrs Nweke who is a United States of America registered nurse, applauded the wife of the State Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo for initiating the Healthy Living campaign which educates the people on benefits of exercise, eating right among other behaviors that sustain the good health status of the body and announced that Oyi women will kick start the exercise part of the campaign, tomorrow morning at the secretariat field which she would lead from the front.

Some women leaders including Mrs Juliana Ibemefuna, Mrs Ukamaka Uchegbu and Mrs Edozie Blessing in their separate remarks, thanked the Mayor’s wife for the program which they described as first of it’s kind in the Local Government and pledged to take the advocacy down to their various wards/villages as well as supporting her in the campaign for the betterment of the women folds.

The Oyi LG Mayor, Hon Dr Emma Nweke who graced the occasion with his esteemed presence, immensely appreciated the efforts of Mrs Nonye Soludo in imbibing the Healthy Living culture in the subconsciousness of the people.

He also thanked his wife for the kind gesture and tasked the women to take the message and campaign serious for the benefits of the society.
