Head Coach of Kentade Queens Football Club of Agege, Femi Omolade has confessed that winning the just concluded Five- A-side Fowosere Female Football Competition is not an easy task.

Omolade disclosed this after his team walloped Fowosere Queens Football Club of Abaranje 3-0 in the final encounter watched by mammoth crowd recently at Abaranje football pitch, Alimosho, Lagos.

The winning coach told journalists that his girls worked hard to avoid defeat in the beginning of the competition, adding that all their matches enroute to the final were very tough. He said his team won the cup because of their doggedness, determination and hardworking.

“Of course the tournament was not an easy task for us because we met good teams on our way to the final. Winning Fowosere Cup is not an easy task but we thank God that we beat Fowosere Queens to lift the cup because they our rivals.  We beat them 4-1 in the group stage and we were able to beat them again.

“It shows that my girls were determined and discipline. Aside this, they listen to my instructions which gave them victory against Fowosere Queens. I congratulate my girls for the job well done and I wish all the players best of luck in their football career,” he said.

After a barren draw in the half time, Aminat Bello of Kentade was a delight to watch in the second half when she scored three goals to confirm her team’s supremacy over their arc rivals to lift the trophy in the presence of Fowosere Queens fans.

Chairman Organizing Committee of the competition,  Damilare Adejayan expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competition. He said both finalists played good football but the better side won. He congratulated Kentade Queens for their good performance and urged them to remain focused in their subsequent competitions.

Meanwhile, the opening match of Fowosere Male Football Competition kicked off last Friday at the Abaranje pitch in Alimosho when Ambassador FC II came from behind to play 1-1 with Fowosere Football Club.
