Woman, 33, Docked For Swindling 2 Men Of N27m With Ghost Investments

A 32-year old woman,Temilade Omotosho Jegede, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly swindling two men, Adeyemi Adewole and Akanbi Yusuf, to the tune of N27m with Ghost Investments.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in June, 2025 at Igando Road Lagos, where the suspect obtained the money from the victims under false pretence.
According to the Police, the suspect deceived the complainants and lured them to invest the money on weighbridge logistics operated under Single Stone Nigeria Limited, knowing same to be false.
After the complainants gave her the money, she escaped, went into hiding and disconnected every communication she had with them. The matter was reported to the Police at Area M Command, Idimu. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the suspect and detained her at the Command for interrogation over the alleged offence.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Temilade Omotosho Jegede, ‘F’ Sometimes in the month of June, 2025, at Igando Road, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district, did fraudulently obtain from one Adeyemi Adewole ‘M’ and Akanbi Yusuf ‘M’ the total sum of N27,000,000 under the pretence of investing on weighbridge logistics operated under Single Stone Nigeria Limited, knowing same to be false and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Temilade Omotosho Jegede, ‘F’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by deceiving one Adeyemi Adewole ‘M’ and Akanbi Yusuf ‘M’ to invest in weighbridge logistics operated under Single Stone Nigeria Limited, knowing same to be false and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (d) (e) (f) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted her bail in the sum of N3m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 21st October, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
