Woman, 34, Batters Husband, Attacks Policeman Who Came To Resolve Squabble

A 34-year old housewife, Mrs. Folake Adeleye, has allegedly humiliated her husband in Lagos State by battering him and equally attacking a Policeman brought to rescue him over domestic violence.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Agege area of Lagos, where Mrs. Folake resides with her husband, Mr. Adeleke.
She has been arrested and charged before an Ogba Magistrates’ Court over the alleged assault on the Police Constable, Ridwan Lasaki.
The woman, Mrs. Folake, who is a trader, was charged for assault when she was arraigned before the Court.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Funmilayo Akinleye, told the Court that the complainant, a Police constable, Ridwan Lasaki, was beaten up by the woman while performing his lawful duty.
Akinleye said that the defendant’s husband, Mr. Adeleke, reported his wife at the Police Station, accusing her of domestic violence and the complainant was sent to arrest her.
“On getting to the house, the defendant resisted arrest, beat up the Policeman and bit his hand,” she said.
The offence, the defendant was said to have committed contravened the provisions of Section 174 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. O Fajana, granted the defendant bail in the sum N20,000 with two sureties in like sum who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The Court adjourned the matter till 28th September, 2022, for mention.
She was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions
