A 38-year old woman, Motunrayo Abdulsalam, has landed in trouble for displaying her boxing skill by battering a man, Daniel Dolapo and inflicting serious injuries on him during a public brawl at Alaba International Market, Ojo area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Motunrayo, has been arrested and charged for the alleged assault on the victim, Daniel Dolapo.
According to the Police, the woman had a disagreement with the complainant in the market over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words  between them and later degenerated to physical fight.
However,  the fight took another dimension following the display of boxing skills by Motunrayo, who beat Daniel mercilessly and gave him a bite, which caused him serious injury on his back before the people around rescued him.
The complainant was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment and the matter was reported to the Police at Ojo Division. The Police arrested Motunrayo and detained her for inflicting such injuries on Daniel.
During interrogation, the victim, Daniel, claimed that it was not only the woman that beat him, that other people around may have joined her to beat him.
However, Motunrayo debunked it and told the Police that she was the only person he fought with and she did not know he had sustained such injury before they were separated.
The Police found Motunrayo culpable and consequently charged her before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.M. Alade, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 30th July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
