A 47-year old woman, Emmanuella Thompson, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging her neighbour, Abilike Oyemowo, in a public squabble and broke her hand in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the suspect, Emmanuella Thompson, has been arrested while her son, Raphael, who assisted her during the fight escaped and is now at large.
The incident happened on 26th May, 2024, at Ibidapo Street, Ayobo area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the woman and her son now at large dragged the victim to the extent that she fell down, broke her right hand and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and she was arrested. She was consequently charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, K.A. Ariyo, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 24th June, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
