CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
A 54-year old woman, Mrs. Sidikat Salaudeen, has been arrested in Lagos after she woke up at night, burgled a shop, carted away goods worth N4m and she was caught in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Old Abeokuta Road by Agege, Agege area of Lagos, where she lives with the owner of the shop, You’re Dosussure.
According to Police sources, the suspect, Mr. Sidikat, broke into the shop and stole the items worth the said amount. While she was escaping with the loot, she was eventually caught and handed over to the Police. She did not deny because of the available evidence against her.
Having been found culpable, she was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court and she pleaded not guilty before the Court. Hence the prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O.Ajayi, granted her bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in Correctional Centre pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 14th January, 2021, while Mrs. Sidikat will remain in custody until she perfects her bail conditions.
