A woman, Mrs. Ariayire Ufuoma, had a nasty experience in Lagos State for confronting her neighbour, Mrs. Oluwanisola Owolabi, who grabbed and inflicted injuries on her with several bites over an undisclosed matter.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Toyin Oke Street, off Isuti Road, Egan area of Igando, Lagos, where they reside.
The 27-year old Mrs. Owolabi has been arrested and charged for the alleged assault.
According to the Police, Mrs. Owolabi had a disagreement with the complainant, Ufuoma over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words between them.
In the process, Ufuoma took Owolabi by surprise, grabbed her and inflicted injury on several parts of her body before they were separated by their neighbours. But before then, Mrs. Owolabi has been injured.
The matter was reported to the Police at Igando Division. Ufuoma was later arrested after she had earlier resisted arrest. She was detained at the station for interrogation while the complainant, Owolabi, was referred to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The Police found Ufuoma culpable after interrogation and charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged assault and for resisting arrest.
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor,  Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K.Dosumu-Uthman, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 31st January, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
