A woman, Mrs. Sanni Romata, will now live the rest of her life without her ear after she fought with her neighbour, Tina Fredrick, who bit off one of her ears and reportedly swallowed it in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ijaye Street, Dopemu area of Agege, where they reside.
Police operatives from the Gender Section of the Command have arrested the suspect, Tina and charged her before the Court for the alleged assault.
The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police. But according to their neighbours, they were rivals, who had always had quarrels in the past before the recent fight.
The Police alleged that during the fight, Tina bit off Ramota’s left ear and inflicted injury on her.
The matter was reported to the Police; she was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the act.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if she is tried and found guilty.
When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinleye Funmilola, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. R. A. Oladele, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 4th April, 2022, for mention while she will remain in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
