An Assistant Superintendent of Police, Supol Elemude Bishop suffered a fracture on his finger, was battered and bitten severally by a female suspect.
The 35-year old female suspect, Temitope Adebayo was said to have been aided by her 70-year old father, Lateef Adebayo during the attack on Elemude Bishop.
The incident happened at Abiodun Street, Ojuwoye in Mushin, Lagos where the victim, Elemude Bishop went to effect arrest.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim suffered his fate as he went to arrest effect the arrest of the suspect in the house but was resisted by Temitope and her father.
It was gathered that the victim decided to use his powers as a senior police officer to effect the arrest but was attacked and inflicted with bites. He then withdrew and went back to the police station. He treated himself before he mobilised other police officers to arrest the suspects.
They were later arrested and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. M.K.O Fadeyi granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that they were remanded in prison custody pending when he they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 6 December, 2017.
It appeared that this period was not the best of times for police officers as suspects now vent their anger on them over the suspicious manner arrests were been carried out.
Barely few days it was reported that one police Inspector, Benson Ohiole suffered a fracture on his head after a suspect vented his anger and used an object to break his head. And this time, it was the turn of Supol Bishop who lost part of his finger while attempting to effect an arrest.
These also happened in the same area and Olosun Police Division in Mushin, Lagos.
