A Lagos lawyer, Barrister Moses Ogunyemi, had a nasty experience after he was given a dirty slap at the Court premises by a woman, Oluwatoyin Adeyinka, for standing as a legal counsel to her 74-year old sister, Mojisola Osinamowo.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 12th September, 2025, at Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos, where Oluwatoyin was brought to Court for prosecution.
She was charged for assaulting both the elder sister, Mrs. Osinamowo and Barrister Ogunyemi under the Criminal Law of the State over her alleged conduct against the complainants.
According to the Police, the defendant had a disagreement with her elder sister,  Mrs. Osinamowo at All Saints Anglican Church, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State and in the process, the defendant slapped her sister severally and injured her in the process.
The matter was reported to the Assistant Inspector General of Police at Zone 2 Command. She was arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over her alleged conduct against the sister.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and brought her before the Court. The sister came with the lawyer to handle her litigation. When the defendant sighted the lawyer, she descended on him and gave him a dirty slap in public accusing him of aiding the crisis between her and the sister.
She was charged for her conduct before the Court, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT 1: “That you, Oluwatoyin Adeyinka ‘F’ on the 12th of September, 2025, at about 12:30hrs, at the premises of Magistrate Court, Ilori House, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did assault one Mr. Moses Ogunyemi ‘M’, your elder sister’s lawyer by slapping him and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 172 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
