Woman Docked For Stealing Cream Lotion At Supastores

A 30-year old woman, Chinyere Okeke has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly stealing a body cream lotion at a super market in Lagos, Nigeria.
She was arraigned before Magistrate’s court sitting in Ejigbo where she was remanded in prison custody.
The suspect reportedly went to JustRite Superstores at Jakande Estate, Oke Afa in Ejigbo area and stole Crystal White lightening Lotion worth N3,600. She reportedly hid the stolen item in her hang bag unknown to her that a CCTV camera mounted in the store had captured her.
When she was about to leave the store after going round, the security guard who saw her through the camera accosted her and searched her bag and brought it out. She initially denied she stole the lotion until she watched the camera who captured her as she hid the lotion inside her bag.
When she realized that the game was up, she bargained to pay the amount which the management refused and handed her over to the police to serve as deterrent to others.
She was handed over to the police at Ejigbo division who charged her to court with stealing under the Criminal Code.
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted her bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.
She told the court that she wanted the matter to be settle out of the court.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail.
